Seminar "Fourier Analysis and Applications" (Winter Semester 2025/26)
- Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Reichel
- Classes: Seminar (0120600)
- Weekly hours: 2
This seminar is intended for both rather advanced Bachelor’s students and Master’s students. The topics of the seminar include Fourier series + applications as well as Fourier transform + applications.
This seminar is intended for both rather advanced Bachelor’s students and Master’s students. The topics of the seminar include:
- Fourier series + applications: Suitable for Bachelor’s students without prior knowledge of functional analysis. However, the topics will be somewhat more advanced than in the Proseminar „Fourierreihen“.
- Fourier transform + applications: Suitable for Master’s students and advanced Bachelor’s students, preferably with a basic knowledge of functional analysis (at least Lp-spaces and Sobolev spaces).
The topics will be assigned according to students’ interests and their mathematical background.
Lecturer/Seminar Instructor: Dr. Patrik Knopf (Substitute professor at the KIT)
Weekly hours per semester: 2
Registration: Please let me know as early as possible by sending an email to patrik.knopf@ur.de if you are interested in participating in the seminar. In your message, please also indicate your degree program (Bachelor/Master), your current semester, and your mathematical background, as this will make it easier to plan the allocation of topics.
The remaining organizational details (location and time, date of the preliminary meeting) will be announced once a first estimate of the number of participants is available.
